GIRONA "FLOWERS TIME"

From the 10 to the 18th of May "Girona Flower Time" bursts into bloom once again.The rich cultural heritage of Girona Old Town together with the abundant woodlands and varied flora of nearby Saint Daniel Valley unite in harmony during 'Girona Flower Time'. The festival is brought about year after year through the admirable effort of the people who use their talent and originality to adorn every corner of the monumental city of Girona with flowers and colour, and this year invite us to explore the inestimable heritage of the Valley.

2º PLACE OF THE SHOP DISPLAY CONTEST

The City Council of Girona organizes the 4th shop display contest among the shops of the city. The contest, which coincides with the 53rd edition of "Girona, Temps de Flors", is organized with the main objective of involving and promoting the local commerce in the activities that are carried through during the entire year in the city of Girona. The subject of this contest is "the flowers", matching the essence of the event that takes place in the city during these days.

FESTIVAL OF SANT JORDI 23RD APRIL 2008

On the day of the Patron Saint of Catalonia, the streets are filled with stalls selling books and roses. The neighbourhood of the Rambla, and Argenteria typical pedestrian streets, celebrate the Spring Festival, the Tarlà is suspended: an effigy, in remembrance of the acrobat who, according to legend, entertained the inhabitants during an epidemic.
